STOP THE GENOCIDE
WHAT CAN I DO?
Arms Embargo Now.
>>>>>>> Israel is dependent on arms sales from Western nations, especially the US, Germany and the UK. If the flow of arms is halted, Israel will be unable to continue their military campaigns and the genocide in Gaza, so will be forced to start complying with international law.
>>>>>>> Write to your local MP demanding that arms sales to Israel are stopped. MPs are self-interested and fear losing their seats at the next election. If they receive a high volume of letters and emails, it demonstrates that this is an issue voters care about and they will lose votes if action is not taken. It is an effective way to change an MP's statements and actions. Resource HERE to find your local MPs contact details. Resource HERE for example wording, although personalised messages have greater impact.
Boycott, Divest, Sanctions.
>>>>>>> The Israeli state has operated a system of occupation, apartheid and ethnic cleansing for decades. This systematic dehumanisation and control of the Palestinian people laid the foundations for the current genocide. International civil society is capable of putting significant pressure on Israel to reverse these policies of oppression by isolating it politically, economically and culturally. The boycott movement against South Africa played an important supporting role in bringing about an end to apartheid, it can help again now.
>>>>>>> We encourage you to engage with the demands and action points set out by the BDS movement. The BDS movement has broad support and legitimacy as the largest Palestinian civil society organisation. HERE is a guide of what to boycott for maximum impact.
Support Palestinian Liberation.
>>>>>>> An immediate stop to the current genocide alone is not enough to ensure that further crimes against humanity will not be committed in future. While the Palestinian people continue to be systematically subjugated, the risk remains extremely high.
>>>>>>> Only through substantive liberation of the Palestinian people will their continued safety and dignity be truly realised and safeguarded. Only by recognising the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people as equal to those of all peoples, will there be a chance of peace in the region.
IS THIS REALLY A GENOCIDE?
Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have conducted separate detailed investigations and concluded that genocide is indeed being carried out by the Isreali government and military.
Further to this, The International Court of Justice has issued an interim ruling ordering Israel to take all reasonable measures within its power to prevent genocide and to desist from depriving Palestinians in Gaza of access to adequate food and water; humanitarian assistance (including fuel, shelter, clothing, hygiene and sanitation, electricity); and medical supplies and medical care. The Israeli government has repeatedly failed to comply with this ruling.
In addition, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defence minister Yoav Gallant, saying there were reasonable grounds to believe Netanyahu and Gallant bore criminal responsibility as co-perpetrators for “the war crime of starvation as a method of warfare; and the crimes against humanity of murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts”.
While the historical context and sequence of events that lead to the current situation will undoubtedly be contested, there are never any circumstances under which genocide and crimes against humanity can be justified as means to achieve your political ends. There is no legitimate argument of self-defense and there are no excuses that can justify these heinous acts.
All those committing crimes against humanity should face their day in court, whatever side they are on.
Our sense of common humanity must prevail.
HOW WAS THIS FILM MADE?
The film draws together new and pre-existing artworks across a range of visual mediums and was created by a group of likeminded artists with the support of Kneecap.
The information in this film was taken from a number of internationally recognised and reputable sources, primarily:
- Amnesty International
- Human Rights Watch
- United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs
- United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women
- The Lancet Journal
- Unicef
The sources and methodology for the statistics present within the film are as follows:
Amnesty International reported that as of 5th December 2024:
1.9 Million People had been displaced
As of 11th June 2025, the Gaza health ministry has reported:
127,394 injured.
55,104 dead.
However, the numbers are very likely to be under estimates due to the complete breakdown of the healthcare reporting systems.
The Lancet journal has published a detailed study into under reporting of fatalities in Gaza. The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women applied the findings of this study to the Gaza health ministry’s mortality statistics in their report attempting to count the true number of women and girls killed. We have applied the same methodology to more recent figures from 11th June 2025 to present a more accurate mortality figure of 93,126 dead in the film:
93,126 dead.
38.5% of fatalities categorised as children & the elderly
